Sometimes the family loves the person more than the ex. In Christmas with the Campbells, a young woman spends her holidays with her ex-boyfriend’s family, and things get a bit complicated.
The film stars Britanny Snow (Pitch Perfect, Hairspray), Justin Long (Live Free or Die Hard, Jeepers Creepers), Alex Moffat (Holidate, Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update), Julia Duffy (Newhart, Designing Women), George Wendt (Cheers, Fletch), and JoAnna Garcia Swisher (Not Another Teen Movie, Reba). Clare Niederpruem (Little Women) directed the film from the story written by Barbara Kymlicka, Vince Vaughn, and Dan Lagana.

The traditional holiday romance movie from the writer of You Light Up My Christmas and the director of The Christmas Bow, gets a little more fun this year with a spin from co-writers Vince Vaughn (Couples Retreat) and Dan Lagana (American Vandal). In Christmas with The Campbells, when Jesse gets dumped right before the holidays by her boyfriend Shawn, his parents convince her to still spend Christmas with them and Shawn’s handsome cousin while Shawn is away.

There are tons of Christmas movies on their way this holiday season. Vince Vaughn successfully wrote romantic comedies with The Break-Up and Couples Retreat. So, we’ll be familiar with this type of humor in this Christmas movie. Plus, the cast is comprised of several lovable actors in the business. This film might be worth checking out.
Christmas with the Campbells is in select theaters and streaming on AMC+ on Friday, December 2, 2022.
