Comic-Con 50 Souvenir Book Features An Amazing Collection Of Comic Book Characters

San Diego Comic-Con is less than a month away! The annual pop culture convention that brings together thousands of people from around the world will be celebrating it’s 50th year so it’s being known officially as Comic-Con 50. To celebrate the event, Comic-Con will be giving out an extra special Souvenir Book cover by one of comic industries’ top artists.

Thanks to Comic-Con we are excited to see the amazing cover to the Souvenir Book that has been penciled by none other than Jim Lee, with inks by Scott Williams and colored by Alex Sinclair. It features thirteen of the comic world’s most popular characters. Starting with DC’s Trinity of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Joining them are Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man, Captain Marvel and Black Panther as well as Image’s Spawn and Michonne from the Walking Dead. Not to left out of the party are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, currently being published by IDW Publishing and Dark Horse’s Hellboy. You can check out the image in the link below!

As you can see, some of our favorite comic book characters like everyone else who attends the convention are doing their best to get through the lobby that lead to the show floor and many rooms where exciting panels take place. One interesting note about the cover is that it’s the first time since 1975 that the Souvenir Book has featured a wraparound cover. It will be available for free for all SDCC attendees while supplies last.

Lee, who is also a publisher and chief creative officer for DC Comics was the one who came up with the idea to feature all these heroes together in an image that does not happen often. He commented that, “The honor was mine getting to do this historic cover for the world’s preeminent pop culture event. What an amazing 50 years!”

Comic-Con is always an exciting time of the years for those who can attend, images like this really do a great job at building the anticipation where all those different character do in fact come together for all things pop culture.
