Friday the 13th is going back to its roots that started the murder spree with the mother in the new Peacock series, Crystal Lake.
Before Jason Voorhees became the immortal serial murderer in Friday the 13th Part 2, Pamela Voorhees was the central villain in the original Friday the 13th and will be highlighted in her demented state after the drowning of her son in the new series.
Linda Cardellini (Scooby-Doo, ER) will play the main character, Pamela Voorhees, as she enters the madness of vengeance.
Here is the description of the series:
A prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise, the series follows single mother Pam Voorhees who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?
The series regulars also include William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. The recurring cast includes Callum Vinson, Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, and Phoenix Parnevik.
Brad Caleb Kane (It: Welcome to Derry, Tokyo Vice) serves as the creator and showrunner.

Although a new film is in the works, horror fans can be satisfied with this upcoming eight-episode launch of a maskless mother on a murder spree. If the series becomes a success, a new series or film won’t be far behind.
Crystal Lake is set for streaming on Peacock beginning on Thursday, October 15.
