Check out some recent comments from Kingpin himself as Vincent D’Onofrio wants in on Spider-Man 4. The actor, who recently reprised his role as Wilson Fisk within Hawkeye appeared on the Sarah O’Connell Show. If you don’t fancy watching the video below, you can skip that for a transcript on what D’Onofrio said about Spider-Man 4.
D’Onofrio was asked which other Marvel characters he would like to interact with on screen.
“All of them. I mean, it’s obvious that Punisher, Daredevil, and Spider-Man are the ones that my character is tied to in the comic books. But there’s plenty of room for others, I can just only hope that that happens. But I mean, Spider-Man definitely. I think that would be really really fun.”
O’Connell then mentioned hoping to see D’Onofrio show up in Spider-Man 4 to which the actor replied:
“I want it as much as everybody does, so we’ll see.”
Of course, just because some fans think it would be a good idea, and D’Onofrio is up for it, doesn’t necessarily make it fit with whatever vision Marvel Studios and Sony has for the next Spider-Man outing. I grew up on The Amazing Spider-Man cartoon series as a kid. Therefore Fisk was always a Spider-Man villain as much as anyone else for me growing up. Whether Fisk would work as a villain for Spidey 4? I think Fisk works better as a mysterious chief antagonist, and usually one Peter hasn’t yet discovered the identity of.

That does mean a Fisk through line could be built into the next few Spider-Man movies, without Fisk himself being the main villain. At least, not till perhaps the conclusion of the next trilogy? But since we have no idea what the writers who get hired for this one will dream up, it’s all pure speculation for now.
