Burning Man is a celebration of anarchy and culture in the middle of the desert. For many people, it created a traditional community for years and is featured in the four-part HBO Max docuseries The Man Will Burn.
Co-composers Tori Letzler and Steven Richard Davis scored the docuseries’ soundtrack and captured the spirit and essence of that community.
Here is the synopsis of the series:
The series’ traces the evolution of Burning Man, from its anarchic countercultural roots in San Francisco to the 80,000-person desert gathering it has become. Filmed over the course of five years, The Man Will Burn highlights the impact of participating in Black Rock City at the moment when many are asking deeper questions about community, and what it means to be part of something greater than themselves.
The series is directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Jehane Noujaim and Vikram Gandhi.
