Over the weekend we got a a little information on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Including the Guardians 3 runtime, one character redesign and James Gunn on F Bombs. First let’s start with the runtime of Guardians 3 which has now been revealed to be 149 Minutes (02:29:00).

Next we have a confirmation from director James Gunn that the F Bomb censored out of a recent TV spot will be uncensored in the movie.

Gunn then went on to explain that although it was never planned in the script he asked Chris Pratt to try it whilst shooting and it was funnier, so they decided to keep it in. As Gunn points out, you are allowed one F Bomb per movie to still hit the PG-13 target. You probably know this if you ever visited the internet and read posts that asks fans to place the one allowed F Bomb into various PG-13 movies to have the biggest impact.
Another detail we learned over this weekend form a new TV spot was a character redesign. Fans will be forgiven for not remembering actor Michael Rosenbaum from Guardians 2 as Martinex. The CGI on the character’s face made Rosenbaum almost unrecognizable. However, as we can see highlighted by Rosenbaum himself below, the latest TV spot shows the character now looks a lot more like the actor paying him.
Wow. Who’s that laughing? Martinex looks a little more like me in Volume 3. Thanks @jamesgunn &the entire CGI team -& all you folks should be very excited for this movie. James & everyone involved put their heart & souls into this one. Can’t wait. #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 pic.twitter.com/FXhALleEar

So far, early reactions to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 have been strong, as have rumored screenings. However, it is worth noting that this was also true for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. That movie ended up with bad reviews and the worst box office of any Ant-Man movie to date. Some sites out there are already predicting that Guardians 3 will do lower than expected based on pre-sales.
That being said, I personally have high hopes for Guardians 3 as I like Gunn as a director and a writer. You may however feel differently?
What do you think of the Guardians 3 runtime, the character redesign and James Gunn on F Bombs? Thoughts below as always.
