Harrison Ford’s Tribute To Peter Mayhew

As reported everywhere by perhaps every movie news outlet on the internet, Peter Mayhew who played Chewbacca for decades, has passed on at the age of 74. As many celebrities and fans reach out to pay their respects to the man who brought everyone’s favorite Wookiee to life, one in particular, is very special, Harrison Ford.

“Peter Mayhew was a kind and gentle man, possessed of great dignity and noble character. These aspects of his own personality, plus his wit and grace, he brought to Chewbacca. We were partners in film and friends in life for over 30 years and I loved him. He invested his soul in the character and brought great pleasure to the Star Wars audience.”

Ford and Mayhew make up one of the more iconic duos in cinema history being the crew of the famed ship The Millennium Falcon. THe two last worked together in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Mayhew will surely be missed among Star Wars fans.
