Hayward Actor Expects The WandaVision Character To Return

Hayward was a real dick wasn’t he? Played by Josh Stamberg, acting SWORD director Tyler Hayward turned out to be one of WandaVision‘s big bads. No, he wasn’t a witch who could tangle with Wanda. Nor was he a android who could rival Vision. And he wasn’t Mephisto or Ultron.

But, he did make a new Vision. One that, if not for Hex Vision’s guidance, could be a real problematic sentient weapon for the Avengers to face down the line.

Though he was one of the main two antagonists of the series, Hayward was accused of being a one-dimensional villain. As someone who loved WandaVision, I don’t disagree. Yet, by the end of the show I was convinced Hayward would be a player moving forward in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I’m sure Justin Hammer could use him in a show like Armor Wars. After all, Hayward had SWORD studying nano-technologies, which was what Tony’s final Iron Man suit was made of.

Talking to ET, Josh Stamberg said one thing he made sure of before signing onto the role was that Tyler Hayward wouldn’t die.

Stamberg told ET:

I do pray as the creator of the White Vision that I’ll come back somehow. I would not only be disappointed, but a little surprised if I didn’t show up somewhere.

I agree with you, Mr. Stamberg. Your character felt like he didn’t receive enough development in his short appearance in the series. That’s the beauty of the MCU. There are plenty of places for s sleazy, power hungry men to pop again again after they are arrested.

So, someday, but hopefully soon, Hayward will return and finally receive the character development that he deserves!
