Fans have been been questioning whether there is a future for live-action Star Wars shows and Dave Filoni won’t commit to an answer. One can argue whether TV series have worked out for Star Wars or Marvel that well. However Star Wars has basically lived on TV/Streaming since The Rise of Skywalker. The most recent film being a movie spin-off of a TV series. However, once we get Ahsoka Season 2 in 2027 there are no known future live-action shows in the works at Lucasfilm. (That we know about.)
In an interview which looks to be after D23, but only uploaded a few of days ago, Lucasfilm boss Dave Filoni was asked if there was a future for live-action Star Wars shows?
Filoni jokes,
“Yeah. It’s interesting, isn’t it?”
“It makes you wonder.”
“And we’ll continue to wonder and speculate, which is all part of being a fan. You know, obviously, in this position, I get to be part of orchestrating that type of storytelling structure in the future and where we’re going to go in the galaxy. Very excited about that. I’ve had a lot of ideas for a long time, and so, yeah. We’ll see.”
“This is where the patience and the waiting comes.”

The secretive but playful nature of Filoni’s reply I think would suggest to me there are plans. If a decision had been made already that Star Wars was stopping live-action TV, I think he’d have answered that differently.
I’m just glad we got Andor before the streaming bubble burst. Outside Andor the only Star Wars TV I’ve really liked was the first two seasons of The Mandalorian. So I can’t say I care too much about the live-action TV future currently.
