Before the dark times, before the virus, San Diego Comic-Con would bring us geeks a yearly feast of trailers and reveals. Now, after a couple of years off, that tradition has made its return to SoCal. It’s not all cape wearing superheroes and zombies though, action flicks like John Wick: Chapter 4 are getting the SDCC treatment.
A special sneak pick at the fourth installment of the “Gun fu” filled franchise was brought to Hall H by Wick himself, Keanu Reeves.
The official synopsis for John Wick: Chapter 4 reads:
John Wick (Keanu Reeves) takes on his most lethal adversaries yet in the upcoming fourth installment of the series. With the price on his head ever increasing, Wick takes his fight against the High Table global as he seeks out the most powerful players in the underworld, from New York to Paris to Osaka to Berlin.
The plot seems like your normal power creep type escalation of threats. However, these movies have managed to expertly execute their stories without going too far with the action. Also, they manage to not let the action become stale either. Let’s just hope this doesn’t ever cross the line of Fast & Furious level one-upping.

Chad Stahelski sits in the director’s chair once again for this franchise and is joined as a producer by Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee. The official press release from Lionsgate lists the cast as:
Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Scott Adkins, and Ian McShane
