Justice League: Mortal Concept Art Shows Off Costumes From Canceled Film

It’s one of those film legends that we love to bring up time and again. Long before Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Justice League hit the silver screen, Warner Bros. was hard at work creating a Justice League film in the form of Justice League: Mortal. At the helm of this flick was Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller.

The cast consisted of Armie Hammer as Batman, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Adam Brody as The Flash, Hugh Keays-Byrne as Martian Manhunter, Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman, Common as Green Lantern, and Anton Yelchin as Wally West (yes, this movie would have two Flashes). This was a film that was heading towards production before the Writers’ Strike happened and derailed the whole thing.

Now, a new image has been circulating that shows off some of the costumes from the flick.

While the image itself is pretty low quality, it’s very interesting to see. I look at that image and can’t help but think of Alex Ross in terms of the spandex-y aesthetic of some of the costumes (Green Lantern, I’m looking at you). Wonder Woman’s look actually isn’t too far from what we have now, and even Aquaman’s own look is farther away from the comic than I would have expected.

It’s another interesting look at what could have been, though I can’t say I disliked how the costumes looked in last year’s Justice League. What do you think of this image? Are you still pining for what could have been? Let us know your thoughts down below!
