It looks like Kevin Feige’s plan to hold off the reveal of Avengers 4‘s title has backfired.
IGN spoke with Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige who says he’s still “not sure” when his company will reveal the titles of Avengers 4, as they “haven’t decided exactly” when to make the reveal.

Feige went on to explain how keeping Avengers 4‘s title a secret backfired, because the intent was to keep focus on Avengers: Infinity War, not lead to rampant speculation:
“I’ve said before, it’s gotten entirely out of hand. And now will have no chance to living up to any expectations of what it’s gonna be. And it sort of backfired, if I’m honest with you, because the notion was to not talk about it so the focus was to be on [Infinity War].”
Feige explained that he felt the announcement of Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2 (“Avengers 4” for now) before even the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron stole the spotlight from that Marvel film:
“I think there was a slight notion of–Ultron hadn’t come out at that point and I felt a tiny little sense of, ‘Well, gosh, we’ve gotta talk about the movies we have coming out next because that’s what we’ve been working so hard on and that’s what’s next available for our audience to see,’ but when we talk that far ahead, that took a lot of attention out.”
Finally, Feige stressed that Infinity War and Avengers 4 are connected, even as directors Joe and Anthony Russo keep saying they are nearly different projects with Infinity War having an actual ending, rather than a cliffhanger:
“They’re absolutely directly connected, as many of our movies are but more so than many of our other movies. People will want to know what happens next immediately at the end of it.”
Well, Mr. Feige, I want to know already! So, you win! Who cares if it “backfired?” I mean, unless you reveal the title as Avengers: Attack of the Clones, or Avengers and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, you’re not exactly losing in the title game.
Any expectations as to what the title will be? I know Feige hates speculation like this, but he did start this mess, didn’t he? Let us know below!
