Love ‘em or hate ‘em, the X-Men films played a huge role in the history of comic book movies. Yes, we can look back at those early movies and roll our eyes at the leather-clad outfits, but it’s a part of what made those movies hit with mainstream audiences. And perhaps, as time went on, the quality of the movies was inconsistent at best (I know by the end people were acting like all the movie were bad and that everyone had always thought that), but they brought with them some beloved characters.
Chief among them was Charles Xavier, played by the great Patrick Stewart. Stewart bowed out of the role a few years back with the release of Logan, and as far as we knew that would be it. After all, Disney had absorbed Fox and, along with it, the X-Men.

But apparently, Marvel Studios isn’t above at least considering a future with some of the pieces Fox left behind.
“I met with Kevin Feige a couple of months ago and we had long, long conversations,” Stewart told Digital Spy. “And there have been moves and suggestions, which include Charles Xavier.”
But don’t get too excited, as Stewart doesn’t seem too keen on the idea of moving forward with another film.
“Here’s the problem…” Stewart said. “If we had not made Logan, then yes, I would probably be ready to get into that wheelchair one more time and be Charles Xavier. But Logan changed all that.”
So, what do you think? Are you sad that Stewart is likely not coming back for another film, or do you think it’s good that Marvel Studios is effectively starting from scratch? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below!
