Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is a horror tale of playing God. For veteran writer Diablo Cody, she reimagined the classic horror story into a romantic comedy with Lisa Frankenstein.
The film is set in the 1980s, and a young woman resurrected a good-looking boy, who she believes is to be the love of her life. However, with an incomplete body, they go on a murdering spree to make their love complete.
The film stars Kathryn Newton (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Big Little Lies), Cole Sprouse (Riverdale, Five Feet Apart), Liza Soberano (Alone/Together, Everyday I Love You), Henry Eikenberry (The Crowded Room, Euphoria), Joe Chrest (Stranger Things, 21 Jump Street), and Carla Gugino (Watchmen, Gerald’s Game).
Zelda Williams (Kappa Kappa Die, Shrimp) directed the movie from the screenplay written by Diablo Cody (Young Adult, Juno).
Here is the official synopsis:
A coming of RAGE love story from acclaimed writer Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body) about a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse. After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness…and a few missing body parts along the way.
