Scott Eastwood brings us a real emotional survival war story, Lucky Strike. A story that was co-written by Rod Lurie and Marc Frydman that was inspired by a true story. Lurie and Eastwood make the perfect collaborators for this story after working together in 2020 for the war drama, The Outpost. A film that was based on a true story starring Eastwood, Caleb Landry Jones and Orlando Bloom.
The Synopsis
Inspired by true events, Lucky Strike tells the story of one soldier (Scott Eastwood, “Suicide Squad”) trapped behind enemy lines during the last major German offensive during WWII, what will become known as The Battle of the Bulge. Armed only with his Motorola SCR-300 radio, a new technology only battle-ready near the end of the war, he must use his wits and spy craft to thwart the advancing Nazi Panzer army and find his way back home.

Scott Eastwood is the fifth child of Clint Eastwood of the total of eight siblings. The one with the most resemblance to the Western icon. Eastwood was born in Carmel and from a young age was exposed to the entertainment industry. He attended Loyola Marymount University with a communications degree. By the mid 2000s he made appearances in films. Fury was the first film to grant him recognition alongside Brad Pitt. Then came other hits like Nicholas Sparks The Longest Ride, Suicide Squad, Pacitic Rim: Uprising, 1992, Fast X among several others.

I connected with Scott Eastwood and Rod Lorie to discuss the making of Lucky Strike. Lorie discussed the different kinds of war films. While Eastwood shared why he decided to be a part of this story although he had originally hesitated and more!
