Mark Ruffalo Remains Coy About His Involvement in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Despite being heavily, heavily rumored, Mark Ruffalo remains coy on his involvement in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Ruffalo who plays Hulk in the MCU has been strongly linked with joining both Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal in Brand New Day. However, as yet he is not confirmed by Marvel.

When asked about the film by ET Online, Ruffalo said he has no idea and he hasn’t been sent any script.

“I don’t know, I’m still waiting to hear. I haven’t read a script yet.”

He did however say he’d be excited to join the film,

“Well, if it does happen, it would be [Laughs] incredible. I grew up with this, and it’s changed my life in the best ways.”

“Each time, it’s a new director, a new world, and it’s so exciting. There’s nothing else like it. A TV show doesn’t change its world from one director to the next, and that’s what is exciting.”

I think Ruffalo is just concerned about spoiling anything. The actor has been in trouble for spoiling things with Marvel before. My guess is he’s learned to just deny all knowledge until he gets told he can talk about it.

EDIT: Ruffalo said this in a separate interview with THR

“If I’m doing that (‘Brand New Day‘) — which the rumors are that I am, once I get a script, I’ll know it’s real — but I love him [Jon Bernthal] and we have a common friend in Lena Dunham, believe it or not, (laughs) who just adores him”

“I can’t wait to work with him, he’s so funny and he’s such a great actor. He plays that character like nobody else. I’m really excited to meet him, I’ve never met him!”

Which is a little less coy, let’s be honest.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theatre’s on July 31, 2026.

What do you think of his comments as Mark Ruffalo remains coy about featuring in Spider-Man: Brand New Day? Is Ruffalo just keeping quiet because he’s known for spoiling by accident? Thoughts below.
