It’s been a long time in the making (it honestly feels like it’s been two or three years since we first heard about this), but Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is just over a month away from its premiere on the Disney-owned Freeform network. Up until now, we’ve seen trailers that tease the impending collision between Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson — the divine pair.
This new extended trailer continues that pattern. However, it also focuses on the darker aspects of the series — from its moody tone to the inevitable death of one of them — it really takes advantage of being an older-skewing series than something like Inhumans (and let’s hope it’s much better in general). All in all, I think this looks like it can be a surprisingly strong show, and given the positive reception to the pilot, there’s no reason it shouldn’t be.

“Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) – two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.”
Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger premieres on Thursday, June 7 at 8pm ET/PT on Freeform.
