Several years back, Disney bought Lucasfilm, and with it, the huge property we know and love as Star Wars. In the time since then, we’ve seen plenty of new comics, novels, movies, TV shows, and overall merchandise hit store shelves, theaters, and streaming services. Now, it looks like Disney is ready to let this property foray completely into the world of kids with their new YouTube channel Star Wars Kids.
In just a couple short days, it will launch alongside Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures, which will feature animated takes on the beloved characters in the original trilogy of films. It seems to be boasting of brand-new storylines, but based on what we’re seeing in the trailer, I expect this to be more of a re-telling of those films, except in an animated, streaming medium.

Below is the official synopsis for Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures:
“Join Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Yoda, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, and more in Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures, a new series of animated shorts celebrating the galaxy far, far away!”
So here is the big question: how do you feel about this? Without a doubt, Star Wars has always been a property that’s appealed to kids. How do you feel about them going all-in on this with the YouTube channel Star Wars Kids? Is this a complete travesty, a whole new opportunity, or like me, are you simply of the opinion that it’s okay if not everything produced in a single property was made for you?
