Thanks to a new report from AV Club we now know that there is non-canon Star Wars content coming to Disney+. What is meant by non-canon is Star Wars projects which no longer fit within the current Universe. Set to be coming onto Disney + starting April 2nd we have, Caravan Of Courage: An Ewok Adventure. Ewoks: The Battle Of Endor. Star Wars: Ewoks (two-Season animated show from 1985). Star Wars: Clone Wars (Genndy Tartakovsky’s Animates shorts). The Story Of The Faithful Wookiee animated short that appeared in the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special.
The actual Star Wars Holiday Special is not set to appear on Disney+ for now, sadly for the masochists out there. To be fair, given how that show used the real actors, I think it’s something that should say hidden within Lucasfilm’s vaults. This other content though, why not? None of this content is canon, it has no effect on what we know Star Wars to be in this continuity. It’s just fun extra content that fans might want to check out on Disney+.

Given my age and era growing up, I remember all of these movies and shows. Star Wars: Clone Wars was actually pretty cool even if it didn’t all quite make sense. The rest, I’m not sure if I would watch them again now. I could totally see myself watching one episode of Star Wars: Ewoks, just for the E-E-E-E-Ewoks theme tune. It reminds me of my youth, my friends and I all watched Ewoks back when I was only 7 years old. However, I doubt it would hold up enough to have me actually start watching it again.
As for both Ewoks movies, I’m not a fan. Even when Caravan of Courage was the only Star Wars anything outside of the OT, it never felt real. I remember eagerly rolling up to watch Caravan of Courage at theaters in 1984. Unfortunately, the little kid version of me was shocked it was so bad, even then. Still, I am of the opinion that this content does no harm, so might as well let it do some good.
