It would be fair to say there have plenty of positive reactions to The Flash trailer online. Even over here in the LRM/GenreVerse Discord everyone seemed to like what they saw. So could Andy Muschietti return to direct another DCU project? Well, it seems like one person is very keen on the idea, James Gunn, current co-head of DC Studios.
We’ve heard through the grapevine that DC are very happy with The Flash and James Gunn has been quoted as saying it’s brilliant. Now that fans have seen the first trailer, I think audiences are starting to realize that may be more than studio hype. So when one fan asked Gunn if he can bring back Muschietti for another DCU project, Gunn said, “okay.” Check it out.

Gunn could just be saying ‘okay’ because this was actually in response to a tweet from the director about GOTG3. Kinda of like a sarcastic way of answering. However that is not usually how Gunn operates. I also think Gunn is genuinely a fan of this movie and that’s why he is keen to work with Muschietti again.

I mean, let’s not get carried away. We’ve all seen movies that had great trailers and ended up awful. Yet for the first time in a while there is some genuine hype around The Flash. If the movie does deliver what the trailer seems to promise then why not have Muschietti return? However I think Gunn and co-boss Safran would be wise to just hold fire until the movie hits theaters this Summer.
