It’s been six years now since we’ve seen Ralph, Vanellope, and Felix, but come this November the crew will be back in action. LRM‘s own Gig Patta recently had a chance to speak with Natalie Nourigat, who is a story artist on Ralph Breaks the Internet, Nourigat discussed the process of developing the story for the film.
“It’s sort of an ongoing process. Early on, we’d meet in the story room at 10 in the morning and then go to lunch together and still be talking story. And then we’d come back to the room, talk story. Then go for coffee in the afternoon, walk to Starbucks, and the whole time, the conversation is ongoing. It becomes more formalized when we’re boarding things and when we have actual sequences to pitch. Even if you catch Rich (Moore) late in the evening, you can pitch an idea to him.”

That sounds like an incredibly awesome job there. Developing stories throughout the day with a colleague, lunch, and afternoon Starbucks? Seriously though their process seems to be a very intricateone, a constant one, always moving, always developing. Wreck-It Ralph was a breath of fresh animated air, and I am actually quite excited for the sequel. All the Disney Princesses in a candid setting, and Iron Man being pursued by X-wing fighters? Ralph and Vanellope on a mission? Count. Me. In.
Returning for the sequel are Sarah Silverman as Vanellope and of course John C. Reilly as Ralph. Ralph Breaks the Internet busts into theaters November 21.
