Ralph Breaks The Internet Trailer Takes Disney Fan Service To A Whole New Level
The new trailer for Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 has finally hit, and just as you’d expect from a Disney trailer, there are plenty of laughs to be had, and the introduction to a whole-new world.
Of course, because of the nature of the franchise and this plot in particular, there is a whole lot more meta humor here than you could possibly imagine. In this trailer, Vanellope heads to Disney’s official site, and on there, we see stormtroopers, superheroes, and in a particularly extended scene (which we’ve been talking about for months now), we get to see Vanellope interact with the Disney princesses.
In this interaction, Disney pokes fun at its own tropes, pretty much pointing out how traumatizing their stories are, in addition to use of male heroes. It may be a bit too meta for some, but it’s still an enjoyable scene, and certainly takes advantage of the premise.
Below is the official synopsis for Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2:
“Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the netizens—to help navigate their way, including a webite entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.””
