Sadie Sink Hasn’t Been Testing With Potential X-Men Cast

Sadie Sink says she has not been asked to test with any of the potential X-Men cast, though she is excited by the cast that’s being put together. I think now in the second week of Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s release and given billions have watched it, we can safely talk about Sadie Sink’s future in the MCU. Whilst rumors say she may show up next in Secret Wars, one movie we definitely know she will appear is Jake Schreier’s X-Men reboot. No date has been set for the film, but there is a still open slot for a Marvel movie in May, 2028.

As per our latest on the X-Men casting (see related section below), the cast is coming together but far as any insiders know, it’s not quite finalised yet. It’s been widely reported Marvel wanted to introduce the cast of X-Men at D23 later this week. For now though, it remains to be seen if they will get everyone signed up in time.

Speaking with Vanity Fair recently, and finally able to openly discuss her MCU character Sink was asked whether she had been testing with any of the potential cast members during this process?

“It’s a little bit separate. So I’m finding out through [director] Jake [Schreier]. There’s also so many online rumors, but it’s coming together. I think the timing of it is so exciting, and the way they planned it out is really clever just with introducing one of the mutants, a very important mutant through Spider-Man. I think a great cast is coming together, and I think people are going to be really excited about it when it’s all announced.”

Sink was asked whether she had to really consider what a multi-year commitment a role like this would be for the young actor?

“Of course, with anything you do have to stop and consider. For me, it felt like a character that would have a lot to offer over however many times we see her. And also the idea of returning to something or having a consistent character that you’re playing is something I’m also familiar with. I like that structure. So it felt like a no-brainer to me. It’s a great character to spend some time with.”

The trade also asked Sink specifically about the reports Kit Connor is playing her on-screen love interest Cyclops. As you’d guess she’s too well trained for a revealing answer.

“Did he? There’s always the rumors, and I just never know what’s official.”

Sink also indicated that X-Men will begin filming in 2027.

“We’ll shoot X-Men, and then I’m going to do a series with FX and A24 called The Marriage Plot, so that’ll be next year.”

Again we have to assume that May, 2028 is valid given that Black Panther 3 and Ghost Rider also come out 2028 and this movie is definitely further ahead in terms of pre-production.

What do you think of Sadie Sink’s comments around her MCU future and the upcoming X-Men film and its cast? Thoughts below as always.
