Man has never really learned the lesson of playing God and immortality since Frankenstein.
In the indie sci-fi thriller Eternal Properties, the film explores the idea of extending one’s mortality and the consequences of science.
The film stars Kahyun Kim (St. Denis Medical) and Nick Ballard (Rosario) in the psychological thriller. The rest of the cast includes Betsy Hume (Sinister Secret Ingredient), Nils Stewart (Good Trouble), Travis Lincoln Cox (Blood Star0, and Michael Guarasci. Maceo Greenberg directed the film from a script co-written with Laura Picklesimer, based on the characters in her upcoming novel.
Here is the official synopsis:
Eternal Properties tracks Sabrina Lee (Kim), a private nurse to the rich and powerful, who is dreading her upcoming birthday. She is about to turn thirty-four, the same age her mother was when she died of ovarian cancer. Carrying the BRCA-1 gene herself, Sabrina lives with the growing fear that her own time may be running out.
Her newest patient, Julian Milton (Ballard), is an eccentric tech entrepreneur conducting a longevity experiment known as Project Paradigm from his secluded coastal compound. When he offers the chance for Sabrina to join the trial as its first female participant, she can’t resist. But Sabrina soon learns that cheating death comes at a dangerous cost. The film puts a modern technological spin on eternal themes of mortality and loneliness.
