Spider-Man: Far From Home – Director Jon Watts Talks Spider-Man, Nick Fury, and Richard Greico?
Yesterday we received two new images from Spider-Man: Far From Home. One featuring Spidey engaging with Nick Fury and Agent Maria Hill wearing a black suit. The second image showed Spider-Man with another new badass red and black suit. I’ll put the link the article with the images in the RELATED section.
Today we hear from the film’s director Jon Watts (who also directed Spider-Man: Homecoming) who during an interview with USAToday spoke about Peter Parker’s internal struggles in the upcoming film, and Nick Fury’s disposition in the film, which you can see first up down below.
“If Tony is like the supportive cool uncle, Fury’s more like the mean new stepdad. Fury doesn’t see himself in Peter Parker. Fury sees Peter Parker as an asset that he needs who is too preoccupied with a bunch of high school problems.”
Yeah, I’m guessing Fury has little patience for shenanigans.

Watts also said that Peter Parker is going to be juggling being a teenager and a superhero.
“I have this memory of being a kid and wanting so desperately to be treated like an adult. And then there’s one day, suddenly, where everyone does treat you like an adult and you start to think, ‘Oh, I liked it better when I was being treated like a kid. Could I go back?’ But by the time that happened, you’re never allowed to go back.”
That is an aspect of the character that will likely always be an issue. It’s hard enough just being a teenager, right folks?
Watts compares Spider-Man: Far From Home to If Looks Could Kill. Yeah, that one, the spy movie that starred Richard Greico. I remember the film, hadn’t thought about it quite some time until now. You can find this, interesting comparison below.
“You get to have this teenage James Bond character. Total world-weary Nick Fury and enthusiastic New York teenager Peter Parker gallivanting across Europe – what’s more fun than that? You put them together and you have some good stuff.”
Spider-Man: Far From Home webcrawls its way into theaters July 2.
