Spider-Man: Far From Home will be with us in a little over two weeks’ time (earlier if you’re in Europe like me) and as per usual for these massive MCU blockbusters, the press that gets to see the movie early are sharing their reactions on social media. Full reviews are embargoed for now as always and you won’t find any spoilers in these reactions, so we have selected a few to share with you today.
So far the vast majority of reactions I have seen have been overwhelmingly positive, and I have only shared a small selection here with you. In fact, the least positive reaction I have found is the last one you will find below, and it really does stand alone as of right now. The general feedback seems to be that this is a damn good movie, Gyllenhaal is excellent and that there are a lot of twists and turns, so stay away from spoilers going into this. Oh, and there have been a few SGA’s that you must make sure you wait for the mid-credits stinger on this one as well. Check out some of the reactions below.
And obviously with Mysterio involved, there are some pretty bizarre scenes. Honestly I always kind of assumed a Mysterio movie wasn’t really possible, but Jon Watts and company pulled it off.

Everyone in the film shines, but the chemistry between Peter and MJ is undeniable & honestly tops the other versions we've seen of this friendship. Their journey in this film is so rewarding & cute & surprising & I adore them. You will too.

Also, yes, of course stay for the credits. And while I will say nothing of what you will see, staying for the credits has never been as important & eventful as it is for this particular film. So don't go anywhere!

Ok friends. #SpiderManFarFromHome is jaw dropping. First half is a lot of fun, coasting on the good vibes of the HOMECOMING cast. But that second half is EXTRAORDINARY, delivering the BEST Spidey action ever. Most SHOCKING ending in a Spider-Man movie ever. Fans will flip out! pic.twitter.com/VcZR3egUWs

#SpiderManFarFromHome: far superior to its predecessor & really delightful, w/a terrific theme of trust well-threaded throughout. Could say more, but it's spoiler-laden, full of fun secrets, so be careful who you follow and what they say. Jake G is great #SpiderMan #FarFromHome

absolutely loved #SpiderManFarFromHome. Captures the spirit of the comics and mixes in some amazing movie magic. The second the film ended I wanted to watch it again. #JakeGyllenhaal is fantastic as Mysterio. pic.twitter.com/4ZYaS0L8mf

I know you hear this all the time, but I'm telling you avoid spoilers on #SpiderManFarFromHome. You will enjoy the film so much more…
And like all @MarvelStudios movies…you should stay in your seat till the very end. pic.twitter.com/QMayIGQlaW

I love that #SpiderManFarFromHome is all sleight-of-hand. It begs to be seen multiple times. pic.twitter.com/nwIX24L8WH

#SpiderManFarFromHome: B-/C+. If you loved the teen-centric stuff in Homecoming, there's more where that came from. Some of the comedy falls flat, but this film has A LOT going on – ultimately beneficial because it mostly distracts from stuff that doesn't land quite as well. pic.twitter.com/1wVMyT5bv9

All in all the buzz seems really positive from this movie (other than the reaction above) and that suits me just fine. I was excited about this from the first trailer, as were most of my colleagues, and as for twists and turns, bring them on. My only gripes with the marketing of this movie is that I feel they have shown us a bit too much so far, however from what I am reading, it seems like there is a lot more being held back than it initially seems.

Hopefully, this film will be a massive success and Sony will realize that the best place for them to make money off of Spider-Man is with him in the MCU. If I had one request for Marvel it would be to make sure any potential third Spider-Man movie is firmly set in New York and New York alone. However, I admit that’s perhaps being a little picky, especially as I haven’t even seen Far From Home yet. Let’s hope I’ll be rectifying that little problem on opening weekend or even earlier if possible.
