Star War: Kathleen Kennedy On The Importance Of Ron Howard Sharing BTS Photos On Social Media
The Han Solo spinoff, Solo: A Star Wars Story, certainly went through the wringer this year. While everything started off all hunky dory with directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller at the helm, the pair were fired late in production due to creative differences.
Ever since Ron Howard took over, he’s been an active force on social media, showing off fun, behind-the-scenes photos that give extra insight into the film.
Speaking with The Star Wars Show, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy spoke on the importance of Howard doing so.
“There is a real importance of letting people have an inside look as to what we’re doing, and experience the fun of what we’re doing, and I think Ron really captured that and had fun with it.”
Of course, there’s another big importance to this. This is a film that has a troubled production. As such, it’s crucial for Howard to show a good face to fans, so that they don’t lose faith in the film. Should they they get the impression that the filmmakers are worried, they may assume the product is inferior, and may skip it altogether.
Regardless, we’re all for more behind-the-scenes photos and videos, so keep ’em coming, Lucasfilm!
