Yeah, yeah, I know. Using “chill” in the headline of an article falls into the tried-and-true “clickbait” trope used across terrible listicle articles, but I promise you that I’m being completely genuine in how I’m using that word. I’ll admit, I’m a bit of a weirdo. I pretty much never cry due to real-world circumstances, but give me a solid music cue in a movie, an emotional character arc, or moving death and I’ll be choked up and shedding tears in no time.
Pretty much whenever I see a genuinely moving moment of filmmaking is the only time I ever express real emotion in life, which probably says more about me than I should be sharing. Nonetheless, this is exactly the feeling I got when watching a new fan film, which shows a band of Stormtroopers facing off against an invisible and overwhelming foe.

Of course, it’s a trope in Star Wars that these guys can never hit anything, so it’s become easier and easier to laugh at them. But this short film does a pretty good job of turning that on its head. Sure, we don’t see where these guys’ shots land, but in painting them as the underdogs, it has me rooting for them.
If only they took that and put it in the context of a good story, it could have been a genuinely moving scene. What do you think of the video? Let us know your thoughts down below!
