Stranger Things: [SPOILER] On Whether Or Not They Are In Season 4

Disclaimer: This post contains MASSIVE spoilers for Stranger Things 3.

Yesterday, fans worldwide were treated to yet another season of the pop culture phenomenon that is Stranger Things. In the July Fourth-set Stranger Things 3, viewers were treated to a rat-infested Hawkins, Indiana. Something’s gotten into these creatures, and per usual, the gang we’ve grown to know and love over the years are on the case, and are ultimately thrust in the middle of some life-threatening supernatural (is supernatural the right word?) circumstances.

Of course, every season, there are sacrifices to be made. In Season 1, it was Barb and Eleven (kinda). In Season 2, Bob bit the dust as he was chowed down on like a slab of meat by a little minigorgon. But who would be dying this time around, if anyone? On that note…yeah, it seemed to be Hopper who got the chop.

Near the end of the season, he was effectively absorbed into the particle accelerator, so when asked about joining Season 4, actor David Harbour said:

“There’s always discussion on set about kicking around ideas about what would be cool and stuff, but there’s a lot of stuff that goes down in season three that you’re going to want to pay attention to before you start thinking at all about the future,” Harbour teases. “They pulled no punches with the season, and it’s a big deal what goes down. So you really have to watch this before you start even speculating.”

And as far as how Harbour felt about the finale.

“I was yelling at the television screen, and I’m not that type of guy, but I think it really has outdone itself. And I would be very surprised if this wasn’t your favorite season, and I’d certainly be very surprised if you didn’t think that episode eight was the best thing we’ve ever shot, because I’m convinced that that episode is so, so unexpected, so beautiful, so big, so tight. Not a second of downtime, not a second where you’re waiting for anything. To me, it’s a masterpiece. Episode eight is a masterpiece.”

So, can we take this to mean that David Harbour is done with Stranger Things? I’m not convinced yet. As previously mentioned, Eleven herself burst into dust at the end of Season 1, and we all know she ended up just fine. Not dead unless there’s a body in my book!
