SyFy (anyone else still pissed at that spelling) has canceled Krypton after two seasons. It has also decided not to move forward with a previously planned Lobo spin-off series. Despite a successful launch for the Superman prequel series, the network has apparently decided it wasn’t successful enough after it took a 50% ratings drop in Season 2. Deadline, the source for this story, reports that licensing fees and difficulty making money off of expensive shows like Krypton are likely to blame.

It’s not all bad news though, there are rumors that the show is being shopped to other networks and streaming services. It’s possible the show winds up on DC Universe or the upcoming HBO Max. Although, a 50% drop in ratings is pretty bad. Who would have ever thought that a Superman show without Superman wouldn’t do so well?
