The season finale of Ted Lasso has come and while it was a disappointing ending the show capped off one of the greatest production stories in a while. Ted Lasso was originally conceived as a marketing tool to promote Premiere League soccer in the United States. However, the premise of the show is AFC Richmond hires Ted Lasso, a championship winning American football coach, to try and turn things around to avoid being relegated.
The show has little to do with actual soccer and more to do in one man instilling hope into a group that has lost all of it. What makes this show great is that it doesn’t rely on an evil character or twist and turns. It relies on the good heartedness of one man and his never ending fight for his team. In conclusion, you can hear more of my thoughts about the show in this episode of The Geeky Jocks below.
