The new amigo, Dani Rojas (Cristo Fernández) has joined the Ted Lasso series on Apple TV+. Rojas brings a new energy to the team with his signature phrase, “football is life.”
The Ted Lasso series has been a full success! As a matter of fact, they announced the second season only days after airing its first episode. This show is based on a pre-existing format and characters from NBC Sports video in 2013. Initially, it was created to help promote NBC Sports to begin broadcasting English Premier League games.
Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses, We’re the Millers) not only stars as Ted Lasso, he’s behind the series as a writer and executive producer. Ted is a college football coach from Kansas. Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) hires Ted Lasso to coach her professional soccer team in England. The laughs start from the very beginning as Ted is trying to adapt to a new sport, new culture, and also new slang. However, the soccer team is not friendly with the new Ronald McDonald coach.
Among the soccer players is Dani Rojas. Rojas joined the cast in the latest episode with an impressive intro. He brings a particular spark and humor to the team. Rojas fits perfectly in this role because professional soccer player is actually on his resume. After getting his bachelor’s degree in communications at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico he then went on to Guildford School of Acting for his masters degree in the UK. He is currently based in London and has his own film company, Espectro MX Films. Also has been working internationally and known for Çdo Çast and the award winning short film Fuera De Serie.
I had a fun Zoom interview with Cristo Fernandez. He shared his experience in joining the cast and expressed his gratitude for being a part of the show.
