Rotten Tomatoes has polled its users to discover the 5 most anticipated movies coming this July, including the likes of Superman and Fantastic Four. Now of course, this is just an online poll, but perhaps does indicate which way the wind is blowing? RT has a lot of users, but we will see how it pans out in terms of box office. If I was a betting man, I’d say it’s a three way fight this Summer, or early Summer. With Jurassic World: Rebirth, Superman and The Fantastic Four: First Steps being the contenders.
If it was me making the choice, it’s really between the two comic book movies. I have zero interest in Jurassic World movies and knowing the entire plot of this new one already, there’s more to drive me away than bring me back. So between Superman and Fantastic Four, tough choice, I’m excited to see both. In fact, these are the only two films I’ll see at theatres this Summer.
However…. the Jurassic World movies are box office gold, or have been till now. Audiences know what they’re going to get. Switch brain off, eat popcorn, get scared by CGI dinosaurs.

Therefore, I’m not surprised at the list below.
1 – Superman
2 – Jurassic World: Rebirth
3 – The Fantastic Four: First Steps
4 – The Old Guard 2
5 – Eddington
I think Eddington and The Old Guard 2 will probably make more profit per cost than the other three. However, there’s no way either will come close to the top three in pure bums in seats.
It’s fair to say Disney will look at this list and be slightly worried. At the same time, I think Fantastic Four is currently tracking for a bigger opening weekend than Superman. If both movies are decent, I hope both do well. However, I’m anticipating Jurassic World being utter crap and still winning the whole Summer.
We will find out soon enough. I’ll write up reviews of both Superman and First Steps when I get the chance to see both. We likely will have reviews from Fox for both before I get the chance to catch either though.
