The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Series’ Tone Compared To The Best MCU Film

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier may take its tone from the best MCU film to date.

Yes, there’s a good chance we will have to wait longer than expected for the Falcon and Winter Soldier’s returns. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited about what’s to come. With the Marvel Cinematic Universe officially moving to streaming, we can’t help but wonder if they can keep the quality up across mediums. Many of us are also wondering if they can possibly keep up the production value across the mediums as well. While The Mandalorian looked pretty good, it didn’t exactly look like it had the budget of a Star Wars movie.

I’m also interested in what The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series will offer in terms of style and tone. While these are very distinct characters from Steve Rogers, I know a part of me hoped that the tone of the Captain America trilogy would rub off on the show. Luckily, it sounds like that’s exactly what we’re getting.

“It felt like both. In a lot of ways, it felt like a movie,” the Winter Soldier himself Sebastian Stan told THR. “What I loved about it was that, tonally, it was very much in the same world that Captain America: The Winter Soldier was, which was one of my favorite experiences that I’ve ever had, period. So, in a sense, it was grounded and very much in the world as we know it. But, it’s also really jam-packed with a lot of massive, massive action scenes mixed with deep focus on character. These characters are getting so much more mileage for all of us to explore them. We can put them in situations that we’ve never been able to put them in before because you now have six hours as opposed to two.”

You can’t see me, but I’m standing at my keyboard clapping. That’s right, I’m clapping and typing at the same time. I’m just that excited by the prospect of the MCU returning to the tone and style of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It’s a close race between that film and Endgame for me, but it may very well be the best the franchise has offered yet.

Of course, the Russo Brothers aren’t involved in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. But I’d like to think that Feige would be instrumental in ensuring the one actually skews in the same direction. All I can do is cross my fingers and hope that we get some of the same kind of crunchy action scenes.
