The Last of Us Trailer | An Introduction To The Grim World Of Joel & Ellie

After being teased for what seemed like a very long time we finally have a trailer for HBO Max’s The Last of Us. This is the fan-favorite video game from Naughty Dog and was published by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2013. The stage is now set for the story to jump from our PlayStation consoles to HBO Max. The trailer sets the tone by adding the grim soundtrack of “Alone and Forsaken” by Hank Williams. You can check it out below!

The Last of Us stars fan-favorite Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Fans of the video game should be very excited by this trailer. The visuals look very similar to what we experienced in the game. We get a look at the cities falling apart and supposed safe zones.

Our first interaction with what is known in the game as clickers is with a silhouette and sound, which fans know is a very stressful and terrifying part of the game. Then for just a quick second, we get a good look at the fungus-infected person.

So far the casting and the visuals look very good. Looks like we are going to continue to have reasons to keep HBO Max as the streaming service continues to deliver hits after hits.

Here is the synopsis for HBO Max’s The Last of Us:

Based on the critically acclaimed video game “The Last of Us,” developed by Naughty Dog for the PlayStation® platforms, the story takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

The series will be released sometime in 2023 on HBO Max.
