Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plag—uhh, I mean of AMC’s The Walking Dead? At one time the series was one of the best on television, but over the last couple of seasons (even though the current season is an improvement) the show has almost become a chore to watch for longtime viewers who have years invested in the series.
Today the show’s official Twitter account posted something that has fans in a frenzy, a Game of Thrones reference. The post shows Walder Frey who was an integral from one of the most famous episodes of Game of Thrones, The Rains of Castemere, which featured those now infamous Red Wedding —

What the post is implying is that during the season finale of The Walking Dead, uhh, yeah, people are going to die, and it’s likely those characters will be prominent members of the group (even though two of the oldest and most popular members have already left, in Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes and Lauren Cohan’s Maggie Grace). Because that’s exactly what happened in the Game of Thrones episode, one of the most shocking events in the show and probably in the history of television.
While it’s likely that several character’s will meet their end, I would say Darryl Dixon is the only character who’s death would come close to having the impact of the Red Wedding. Sure, some of the other characters may be the favorites of some fans, but Darryl is the only one that has had a hashtag threatening a fan riot, should the character die.
