It is being reported by pretty much all the trades that Thunderbolts is the latest Marvel production to get delayed due to the ongoing WGA strike. Deadline were first out the gate with the news. Here is what they had to say:
Marvel Studios is delaying filming on another upcoming production as Deadline has learned that the studios’ Thunderbolts pic has pushed pause on the upcoming production, which was set to start shooting in three weeks in Atlanta. The crew was notified today and insiders say that the plan is to resume production once the strike has ended.
This comes on the heels of Blade being delayed for similar reasons. Meanwhile, current productions such as Daredevil: Born Again had also stopped due to the strike and ongoing protests. However, THR reports in their coverage that two productions are still going ahead.
Marvel is still in production on Captain America: New World Order and a third Deadpool movie recently began production in London.
Deadpool was supposed to have just begun if you check out the rumors. Also, we’ve known Captain America has been filming for some time and there has been a plethora of set photos shared online.

There is no doubt this WGA strike is affecting all the studios. It effects the entire industry revolving around TV/Film including entertainment news sites like LRM. We may be a small site that tries to focus on geek culture. However, when some of the big sites are running changes to the McDonalds menus on the front page? Well, you know news is slim right now. If there is less getting made or pushing on, then we have less news to report.
Let’s hope it gets resolved soon to the majority of people’s satisfaction.
