Unseen: Red Carpet Interviews With Cast and Crew

By the time you’ve finished reading this article, someone will be a victim of human trafficking in this country. Sadly, this is the modern day slavery of today.

In recent years, Hollywood started to notice this human trafficking issue. The industry is slowly making movies about the subject to bring awareness and discussion amongst the people.

In the short film Unseen, writer and director Elizabeth Blake-Thomas (Maybe I’m Fine) brought the issue to screen on how human traffickers managed to successfully abduct a teenager using social media.

Here’s the synopsis:

Inspired by true events in Utah, Unseen is about a teenage girl’s innocent social media mistake. Carly, 17, like most teenagers, want to have her own money, be seen at parties, get out of her small town and find something better, even become famous. Carly’s way out of her current situation comes in the form of a social media avert that she sees on her phone. An agency looking for models and offering them a prize of $1,000. Due to some everyday white lies, Carly puts herself in an unsafe position. Carly’s lies lead to her being unseen, never to be seen again. The next day when family and friends realize that no-one knows Carly’s whereabouts, it’s too late. This is “fame lure” and can happen to any child, anywhere at any time.

The film stars Rhyon Nicole Brown (Empire), Isabella Blake-Thomas (Secret Society of Second Born Royals), Yolanda Wood (High School Musical 3: Senior Year), Hilary Barraford (Life Like), and Rebecca Da Costa (The Bag Man, Wild Oats).

LRM Online managed to exclusively interview director Elizabeth Blake-Thomas, executive producer Cindy Cowan (Red Lights, Very Bad Things), and the stars including Isabella Blake-Thomas, Yolanda Wood and Rebecca Da Costa.

The short film Unseen is currently playing in Los Angeles for one-week for Oscar qualifying run.
