‘Paranormal Activity’ Producers Plans for a Latino Horror Film

There’s paranormal activity all around the world.

After four “Paranormal Activity” movies and one more sequel in the works, Paramount Pictures and the producers of “Paranormal Activity” are preparing a Latino movie version similar to the popular franchise.

The project will reunite producers Jason Blum and Oren Peli with screenwriter Christopher Landon (“Paranormal Activity 2,” “Paranormal Activity 3”).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new project will not be a direct sequel, reboot or spin-off of “Paranormal Activity.” This version will be about a Catholic-based paranormal activity and mythology with a Latino cast. And, the film will not be in Spanish.

In 2010, a Japanese movie company produced “Paranormal Activity 2: Tokyo Night,” a Japanese spin-off sequel to the franchise. And “Paranormal Activity 4” is currently in the works for release on October 19 later this year.

As for this film (sounds more like another exorcism film), the film will be on a micro budget and possibly will be release early next year.
