JUSTICE LEAGUE: Each Cast Member Is Their Own “Character In A Weird Way,” Says Gal Gadot

While Wonder Woman may not have had a whole lot to do in this year’s Batman v Superman, between next year’s Wonder Woman and Justice League, you can rest assured that we’ll be getting to know Diana Prince pretty well before 2017 is up. From what we could tell, actress Gal Gadot was able to do a serviceable job in the task she was given in the film, but the big question is whether or not she can hold up an entire film — or even entire Wonder Woman franchise. While the jury is still out on that one, at least with Justice League, she’ll have the assistance of all over five cast members.

Wonder Woman may be an integral part to the whole Justice League ensemble, but we can’t downplay the likes of Batman, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, and of course, Superman — all played by Ben Affleck, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, and Henry Cavill, respectively. Like in Suicide Squad, Justice League will require the ensemble to have impeccable chemistry with one another. Affleck and Gadot did well enough together, but we’ve yet to see the rest fully interact in a meaningful way. Regardless, the cast seems pretty well fit to their roles.

Speaking with Hey U Guys, actress Gal Gadot talked up her co-stars and the personalities they brought to the set and their characters.

“They’re all different and great. Working with such a big cast and having so many different personalities on set every day, it was super interesting. They’re lovely people. It’s funny because literally each and every one of them is the character in a weird way. Henry [Cavill] has this goodwill and is polished and is pure. Ben is more cynical and more dark and more Batmany… you have all of them and it was great fun. And I really enjoyed working with them.”

It’ll be a good while until we see the fruits of their labor — all we’ve had so far is a sizzle reel from San Diego Comic-Con, but even that had some great moments between Bruce Wayne and Barry Allen, among others. In addition to that some outlets had a chance to see the footage on a set visit a few months back, and if the buzz from that is any indication, it sounds as though DC is on the right track with this one. But will the narrative hold together under the weight of the ambition of the tale they’re trying to tell? Only time will tell.

The synopsis for Justice League is as follows:

“Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy.  Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat.  But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”

Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.
