Oh, boy. Justice League. Talk about a movie that will not die. What should have been DC and Warner Bros.’ Avengers. Instead, it ended up being something closer to Incredible Hulk — except with much worse fan reception. From the get-go, it was known that the studio had a heavy hand in every stage — from production to post, meaning that we knew we wouldn’t be getting Zack Snyder’s true vision.

In the years since then, fans (and outlets like ours) have not been able to shut up about the possibility of a seeing a Snyder Cut — meaning Zack Snyder’s original vision. Well, if you were hoping to see this conversation die…too bad, because we’re fanning the flames, yo.

In a recent interview on the Reel Blend podcast, professional fanboy and filmmaker Kevin Smith revealed that there IS, in fact, a Snyder cut.

“I’ve not seen it firsthand. And also to be clear, I know Zack, but it’s not like, ‘We’re f**king tight son!’ … That being said, I’ve spoken now to enough people at various levels in that production. There IS a Snyder cut. For sure. That’s not a mythical beast. It exists. Now, it’s not a finished movie by any stretch of the imagination. There were things that went away from the story that they shot that didn’t wind up going into (visual) effects or anything like that. So I would assume, based on what I’ve been told, that large sections of that Snyder Cut are, you know, pre-viz (with) a lot of green screen. We’re not talking a finished movie. When people hear ‘Snyder Cut’ in their heads, they think about, like, a DVD they’ve seen of an extended cut or something that’s finished. The ‘Snyder Cut’ that, again I haven’t seen, but the one I’ve heard everyone speak of was never a finished film. It was a movie that people in production could watch and fill in the blanks. It was certainly not meant for mass consumption.”

So, this is pretty much what I expected there was…though, not completely. I always assumed there were a lot of things in Snyder’s original draft that didn’t make it to the production stage. Hence, a TRUE Snyder Cut would be impossible. But, at this stage, who knows, right?
