In news that will shock no one, Warner Bros. has decided to finish cutting ties with Brett Ratner’s Ratpac-Dune Entertainment. According to a new report from the Los Angeles Times, Warners is opting not to renew its $450 million co-financing agreement with Ratner and James Packer’s company. This was a deal was made back in 2013, and covered that up to 75 movies. It will be coming to an end with this weekend’s release of Rampage, starring Dwayne Johnson.
This news comes months after the landslide of sexual misconduct accusations against many big players in Hollywood. One such big player was Brett Ratner himself. In addition to making inappropriate comments (like outing X-Men: The Last Stand star in front of all her co-stars), several women, including Olivia Munn, accused him of harassment, inappropriate touching, and forced oral sex.

Ever since these accusations came to light, Warner Bros. made it clear that they would begin minimizing their connection with the studio. As a result, them not renewing their agreement is just an actualization of something pretty much everyone saw coming. However, the Warner Bros. rep did not embellish on their reasoning for not renewing their deal.
Of course, with Ratpac-Dune no longer in the picture, Warner Bros. could be in need of another co-financier. However, the outlet noted that if the purchase of parent company Time Warner by AT&T does ever go through, it may ultimately diminish their need to get any additional co-financiers in the future — though that particular deal is up in the air.
It’s unclear what will become of RatPac-Dune. What do you think of this whole deal? Let us know your thoughts down below!
