Impulse was the first scripted series brought on YouTube that has laid the foundation of a strong streaming service. During the Impulse panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Doug Liman revealed that he approached Fox first to buy this series.
Always feeling that he could do better with Jumper, Doug thought that the story would be better as a tv show. He approached the executives at Fox about the idea of doing a sequel to Jumper but in TV format. After a no from the studio, Doug went out and bought the rights to the second Jumper books and started shopping the series around.
When YouTube jumped at the series in order to avoid any legal issues Doug had to change the concepts of Jumping and actually calling it Jumping.
