As someone who needs a healthy diet of 30-minute comedies lining the handful of darker hour-long shows, Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been quite the mainstay along with the now-ended Parks and Recreation and New Girl. As those shows wound down, Brooklyn ended up being one of the surprising highlights of my week, with my love of the show growing more and more as we learned more about the diverse cast of lovable personalities.
You can imagine my horror for that 24-hour period of time where it was one of the many bodies that littered the floor of “canceled TV shows.” Luckily for us, NBC was quick to pick them up — albeit for a reduced, 13-episode season. Now, it looks like the upcoming Season 6 has just started season, as revealed by star Andy Samberg on Twitter.

From what we know, apart from the reduced episode count, the show will be exactly what it was back over at FOX, with no formula changes being pushed by the new network.
Season 5 left on quite the cliffhanger, with us not knowing whether or not Holt had locked down the commissioner job, and while I don’t expect him to have actually gotten the job at the start of Season 6, I’m very happy we’ll be getting an answer.
