If you’re a kid of the ’90s, chances are you can’t see the words “Carmen Sandiego” without singing the song “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego” in your head. It was one of those formative gameshows and cartoons many of us watched as a kid. Images of a woman clad in a red attire (I’m assuming in a failed attempt to blend in?) come to mind.
Well, the show is getting rebooted by Netflix in the form of both in live-action and animated form in the near future. The 20-episode animated series Carmen Sandiego will be the first one to drop, and now, thanks to Netflix, we now know when. The streaming service took to Twitter to share a first image and reveal the release date.

I have to say, while I know full and well I’m clear out of the target demo for this thing, I really do enjoy the new take on the character. It’s certainly a step up from her old design, which was so ’80s it hurt. But if you wanted a better idea of what to expect in the show proper, then EW has your back. The outlet released a series of new images for the new Gina Rodriguez-starring series, which will reportedly be split between the present day and the past, which led to Carmen being a renowned thief.
You can check out those images HERE.
