Thinking about it, Capcom’s Resident Evil may be my favorite video game franchise. Since the days of it’s PlayStation days, I have always been captivated by the horror aspect of the game. Never knowing what is going to pop out of the darkness. Since those days the Resident Evil franchise has infected many other markets, including Hollywood. Besides the highly anticipated next RE game, we also have two series that will be featured by the streaming giant Netflix.

We know that they are working on a live-action RE project for their streaming service. That one is supposed to focus on Jade and Bill Wesker. This past weekend via the Capcom TGS Live 2020 stream, Netflix unveiled a second project titled, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. You can check out the trailer above!

As you can see by the quick tease, the horror-action series will focus on fan-favorite characters Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. The trailer was very vague. We only really learn that these two characters will be featured. It almost seemed rushed to be put together.

The description of the series does not specify what exactly these two characters are up to. Or how they come together. One thing that Netflix said was that “By adding suspense into dynamic action scenes, this series will reveal a Resident Evil world unlike anything seen before.”

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness comes from a partnership between Netflix and Capcom. The series will be produced by Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who is no stranger to the Resident Evil franchise. Anime experts TMS Entertainment will produce the series. Quebico, lead by Kei Miyamoto, will be in charge of the full 3DCG animation production.

I’m excited to see more of this franchise on my television screen. Although I won’t have too many expectations as we’ve seen what Netflix does to some series it tries to bring to life. Hopefully, with a heavy dose of Capcom, they can deliver a thrilling series.
