There’s no large or big role for Stephen Lang. Every role to him is important.

In The Seventh Day, Stephen Lang plays an archbishop that oversees the exorcism program for the Catholic Church. He introduces Father Peter (Guy Pearce) to his new protégé Father Daniel (Vadhir Derbez) as the pair tests the waters of their relationship by investigating exorcism phenomena.

The movie also stars Keith David and Robin Bartlett. Justin P. Lange wrote and directed the horror film.

Here’s the full synopsis:

A renowned exorcist who teams up with a rookie priest for his first day of training. As they plunge deeper into hell on Earth, the lines between good and evil blur, and their own demons emerge.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with actor Stephen Lang. Although, his role is small—it was stressed as important for the movie. We discussed the genre, the type of roles he seeks, and his approach to acting.

Stephen Lang is a brilliant thespian on Broadway stage, on television, and in film. His biggest known role was with 2009’s Avatar, in which he will reprise as Colonel Miles Quaritch in the follow-up sequels. His Broadway roles included Tony-nominated performance as Lou in The Speed of Darkness, Happy in Death of a Salesman, Colonel Jessep in A Few Good Men, and Mike Tallman in Wait Until Dark. Also, he performed in numerous well-known television series and films, including Gods and Generals, Tombstone, Gettysburg, Michael Mann’s hit television show Crime Story, NBC’s The Fugitive, Fox’s Terra Nova, and Last Exit to Brooklyn. He is reprising his role as The Blind Mind in the upcoming Don’t Breathe sequel to the successful 2016 thriller film.
