Certain traumatic events certainly haunt people in the form of post-traumatic stress disorder. With children, an event of kidnapping and murder remains in a person’s psyche for the rest of their lives. In The Girl Who Got Away, a serial killer escapes, and the lone survivor of a small massacre ends up reliving her own horror scenario.
The film stars Lexi Johnson, Chukwudi Iwuji, Geoffrey Cantor, Kaye Tuckerman, Willow McCarthy, Ned Van Zandt, and Audrey Grace Marshall.

I’m not sure which subgenre The Girl Who Got Away would fall under whether it’s supernatural horror, psychological thriller, and straight-up mystery thriller. Perhaps all three! This indie horror has potential with a few scares and wondering if the protagonist became the killer or she is actually being haunted by the killer.
The Girl Who Got Away releases on August 20.
