We live in a time of superheroes. Isn’t it awesome?! For all of us comic fans out there, we truly have the gift of seeing our heroes on the big and small screens. While some interpretations have fared better than others (Marvel compared to DC) it is  great that superheroes have become a mainstay in pop culture. How could it possibly get any better? Well, what about the possibility of a DC/Marvel Crossover from James Gunn?

The director has his hand in both franchises. He is the director of Guardians of the Galaxy and Suicide Squad. Therefore, Gunn knows what each franchise is about, and how they can be successful. The director was recently asked on Twitter if he has been in conversation with DC about any future projects. Gunn confirms that he has!

@JamesGunn Do you have some discussions with Warner and DC for another DC project after Peacemaker ? I will be very happy if you answer James ! 😍

Now while he is not specific, Gunn also reveals that he has in fact been in discussion about a DC/Marvel crossover. He first suggests that he would love to have a Groot and Harley Quinn film. He goes on to state:

“Not only have I thought about that, but I’ve actually talked about that to the heads of both Marvel and DC. They know everybody’s open to everything, but whether anything would ever happen, who knows?”

While the idea of a DC/Marvel crossover is nothing short of amazing, Gunn does explain that it is also quite difficult to execute:

“I know it’s exciting for even the heads of Marvel and DC to think about, Kevin Feige over at Marvel and Tobey Emmerich over at Warner Bros… It’s something we all like to dream about, whether we can ever get through the barrage, the Berlin Wall of lawyers we would need to get through to ever make something like that happen, I don’t know. But, it would be a blast.”
