Skylan Brooks stars in the new sci-fi thriller Outsiders. A film directed by Delmar Washington.
The Synopsis
When high school student Jaylen Brown (Skylan Brooks) finds himself under suspicion after his classmate disappears during a party, prejudice quickly begins to boil to the surface of his small southern town as all fingers point toward him. Working against the clock to clear his own name, he begins to unravel a massive web of secrets that all point to otherworldly forces at play.

The young actor, Skylan Brooks made his breakout in The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete. It led to a nomination for Best Performance in a Feature Film for his character, Mister from Young Artist Awards. He is also known for Southpaw, Netflix’s The Get Down and The Darkest Minds. Brooks also has talent for music and released his first album in 2019.
The Philadelphia native, Delmar Washington has been behind the camera since he was 8 filming family events. He has showcased his work as a director in Naming The Baby, Laff Mobb Presents and Mirror II Society: Affion Crockett.

I was connected with Skylan Brooks and Delmar Washington earlier this week to talk about their participation in Outsiders. Delmar Washington shared why the film had a title charge, location and the cast. Skylan Brooks spoke about what attracted him to this film, how it was easy to relate to his character and more!
